This law does not expressly mention service animals but is the foundation of the ADA. For specific mention of of service animals and the definition of a service animal under the ADA, consult the Codes of Federal Regulation (CFR).
An Act To establish a clear and comprehensive prohibition of
discrimination on the basis of disability.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United
States of America assembled, that this Act may be cited as the
"Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990".
