Since we're talking about poop colors...

I've heard rumors that for a while in the 60's and 70's it was fairly common to see dog poop with a white outer coating. Was this a result of a pet food that was popular at the time, a parasite, or something else?

Coyote scat is white... I guess because of the bone/gristle/hair(?) they eat.

Dogs that eat a fair amount of bone will have poo that dries and turns white quickly.
